What is KMU.DIGITAL?
KMU.DIGITAL is a government-funded program to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Austria in their digital transformation.
The funding covers both consulting and technical implementation – targeted, practical and financially supported.

FAQ
How much funding can I receive?
Two types of support are possible within the framework of KMU.DIGITAL:
Consulting: Up to 80% subsidy, maximum approx. €1,200 per consultation (depending on the type of funding and consulting service).
Implementation: Up to 30% subsidy, maximum €6,000 per project, if a technical measure is implemented.
The funding amount depends on the module selected and the overall scope of the project. It is also possible to combine several modules—for example, consulting + implementation.
Who can apply for KMU.DIGITAL funding?
All small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) based in Austria are eligible to apply. These include:
Sole proprietorships (including sole proprietorships)
Limited liability companies (GmbH)
Partnerships (OG, KG)
Associations with economic activity
Important: The company must have an operational business (purely “digital business models” such as agencies without physical processes may be excluded in individual cases).
Which services are eligible for funding?
As part of the implementation support, we support the following measures, among others:
Introduction of AI systems (e.g. chatbots, speech recognition, automation)
Digitization of internal processes (e.g. CRM systems, accounting connections)
Data processing & analysis (including API connections & dashboards)
Training tools & support systems
Automated workflows in sales, customer service or HR
We will check with you free of charge and without obligation whether your measure is eligible for funding.
Do I need a certified consultant for KMU.DIGITAL?
Yes – but only for the consultation phase.
The consultation must be conducted by an expert registered with the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber (WKO) (e.g., CDC, CDTE, CDISE). If you don't yet have a consultant, we will be happy to recommend suitable partners from our network.
You don’t need a certified partner for implementation – this is where we come in directly as an implementation partner.
How long does the funding process take in total?
The duration depends on whether you use consulting, implementation or both:
Consulting: Application → Implementation → Submission → Payment – approx. 2–6 weeks
Implementation: Application (via AWS) → Approval → Implementation → Billing – approx. 4–10 weeks
We accompany you through all phases and ensure that deadlines are met and funding conditions are fulfilled.
How much does it cost if you support me?
Our initial consultation and funding assessment is free of charge and non-binding.
We will prepare an individual offer for the technical implementation – transparent, modular, and, if desired, prepared in accordance with funding requirements.
You only pay for what is not subsidized – the rest comes from the state.
